Synopsis:
Alexander Ogaryov's "Three Sisters" is a production about how the dream of a "better world" becomes a trial for the soul.
On stage: a name-day celebration, conversations about Moscow, the search for happiness, and that same question — "If only we knew, if only we knew!" But Ogaryov's production is not museum-piece classicism; it's a contemporary confession, in which the characters seem to speak directly to the audience, here and now.
The director sees in Chekhov's play a biblical myth of a lost paradise. Each character tries to find a way "back" — to true love, freedom, meaning.
This is a production as conversation, a reminder in which Chekhov's work loses none of its relevance — and instead answers the questions of our present-day lives.
